  Space Observatories

An observatory occurs as location utilized for researching terrestrial and/or ethereal cases. Astronomy, astrology, climatology, geology, meteorology and volcanology are examples of disciplines for which observatories have been constructed. Historically, observatories were when elementary when containing the sextant (for measuring a few feet away between stars) or Stonehenge (which has some alignments in astronomic phenomena). Modern astronomic observatories usually contain of these or even other for good mounted telescopes contained in buildings using the rotating or even obliterable dome. Beginning in the 1940's, radio telescopes were built and began to detect important radio sources in the universe. Such an instrument, or even the collection of the two, by using outbuildings for such items when control centres, information reduction centers, & maintenance come known as radio observatories. A few of the major ones come at Jodrell Bank in England, Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Parkes in N.S.W., Australia, Socorro, around NM, U.S.The., Mauna Kea, HI, USA, & Kokino in Macedonia. A big observatory in the equatorial belt is Observatorio Nacional de Llano del Hato in Venezuela. In a go twenty years, several space-based observatories have been launched, introducing a recently utilize of the term.

The BBSO is operated by the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

High Altitude Observatory Homepage
High Altitude Observatory (HAO) is dedicated to the study of the Sun and of the response of the Earth's upper atmosphere to the Sun's output.

Catania Astrophysical Observatory

Mees Solar Observatory Home Page
one of the University of Hawaii Haleakala Observatories. We are located on the summit of Haleakala , Maui, Hawai`i. Our elevation is 3,054 meters (approximately 10,000 feet).

UCO/Lick Observatory

Yohkoh Public Outreach Project
Solar educational resources from the Yohkoh X-ray telescope space mission. Includes images, movies, educational resources, and a "tour" of the Sun.

Cracow Observatory - Solar Radio Emission
Contains daily data on radio emissions.

The 60-Foot Solar Tower
The HiDHN project is a network of two sites whose primary purpose is to study the high order oscillations of the sun in the narrow sodium D-line wavelengths. The two sites, Mt. Wilson Observatory, above the city of Pasadena in California and the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory (CrAO)(US mirror site) in the Ukraine, study solar oscillations to develop a model of the internal structure of the sun(HiDHN)

IPS Culgoora Solar Observatory
The Culgoora Solar Observatory is located 25 km west of the town of Narrabri, in north-west New South Wales. The observatory conducts continuous optical and radio observations of the sun every day of the year.
